Painting again

After a couple of months of “time out”, I’m happy to say that I’m back in the saddle. As you know my latest work—murals on vintage surfboards—has been quite successful. I sold the last of the eight— Lost in Paradise and decided I need at least five boards for the showroom and two more for the new surf and art museum opening in Kempsey in the new year. So it’s full steam ahead.

Reef Reeler is the first completed piece for our showroom. The board is a rare double flyers Jackson vintage from around 1977. It needed a fair bit of restoration to get it sound and back in shape, thankfully the hard work was worth it. I’m pleased with the scene, the colours and the layout. The project turned out brilliant to my mind. The board is available but has taken the spot of Lost in Paradise for now.
